Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you take your seat in the gallery.

  • How long do the courses last?

Gallery Foundations runs for four weeks in the evenings. The Director and Technical Director course takes six weeks with a mix of evenings and weekend studio days.

  • Do I need previous experience?

No. Foundations starts from the very first cut. For the director course we recommend some time on a live gallery or a Foundations certificate.

  • Where does the training take place?

Sessions run in our fully equipped training gallery and studio. Visit the Contacts page for the address and travel details.

  • Which equipment will I use?

Broadcast vision mixers, studio and PTZ cameras, intercom, replay, graphics and streaming encoders, set up exactly like a working production.

  • What payment options are there?

You can pay in full or in instalments. Send us an enquiry and we will confirm the plan that suits you before you commit.

  • Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Every graduate receives a certificate of completion from glimrazy listing the skills and hours covered.

Why glimrazy

Gain real insight into how a live show is run

Learn on the equipment used across UK television and streaming, guided by tutors who work in galleries and OB trucks every week.

  • Switch like a pro

Cut between four, eight or sixteen sources with clean timing, using the same multiviewer layouts you will see on air.

  • Go live, not just practise

Every course ends in a real transmission to a private stream, so you learn to stay calm when the red light is on.

  • Run the whole control room

Sound, graphics, replay and talkback are part of every session, so you understand the whole chain from camera to viewer.
